Seven technology leaders named to advisory board for Georgia Southern’s CIT

The College of Information Technology (CIT) at 糖心Vlog has tapped seven technology leaders from across the state to join its Board of Advisors. The incoming members, named to three-year appointments, are:
  • 聽Richard Aldredge, vice president of information systems for Kauffman Tire, in Ellenwood.
  • 聽Alyssa Belcher, network administrator for Dabbs, Hickman, Hill & Cannon in Statesboro.
  • 聽Angela Bland, director of client services for Staffing Technologies in Atlanta.
  • 聽Jo Anne Knieriem, a consultant with MacBeth Williams Teleconsulting in Canton.
  • 聽Michael Polak, director of product management for VeriSign Inc. in Savannah.
  • 聽Chuck Stallworth, president of Holloway Consulting Group in Atlanta.
  • Cindy Tierney, chief information officer for Beazer Homes USA in Atlanta.
‘We are excited to welcome these technology leaders to our board,” said CIT Dean James Bradford. ‘As one of the few dedicated Colleges of Information Technology in the country, we are committed to providing a premier educational experience for our students. These new board members will provide valuable real-world perspective and will guide and support us as we continue to develop new programs to meet the changing needs of the technology industry.” Established in 2003, Georgia Southern’s CIT consists of three academic departments: Computer Sciences, Information Systems and Information Technology. The college is housed in a $33 million state-of-the-art facility featuring 25 interactive learning/study rooms, 10 computer labs and 14 electronic classrooms. Students have the opportunity to work on real-world projects through the college’s own software company Eagle Informatics. Its client list includes regional and national companies such as NCR.
