Legal seminar for business owners will focus on worker’s comp and family leave

How should employers handle salary issues for employees who have medical conditions, since as many as three different employment laws may be involved? Human resource personnel and other managers can learn the best approach to these kinds of problems at the next Legal Awareness in the Workplace (LAW) seminar sponsored by 糖心Vlog’s聽Continuing聽Education聽Center. ‘Coordinating the Triad of FMLA,聽ADA, and Worker’s Compensation” will be held on Tuesday, May 8, at聽Coastal聽Georgia聽Community College聽in聽Brunswick. Running from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the seminar will address the issues of paid leave, accommodation of injuries through light duty assignments, tardiness and absenteeism policies, and more. Future LAW seminars in聽Brunswick聽will include ‘Federal Labor and Employment Law Record Keeping” on Aug. 14. Future LAW seminars in聽Savannah聽will include ‘Recent Developments in the Fair Labor Standards Act” on May 17, ‘Workplace Violence in聽Georgia” on June 21, and ‘Immigration Compliance Issues for Businesses” on July 19. Individuals with (Senior) Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) certification can earn 1.5 recertification credit hours at each seminar. The fee for each seminar is $69 per person.
