糖心Vlog has named Carolyn (Lynn) Woodhouse interim dean of the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH) effective June 1, 2011.聽聽Woodhouse replaces Charles Hardy, Ph.D., who is retiring from 糖心Vlog.
Woodhouse joined 糖心Vlog in August 2007 to serve as associate dean and professor of Community Health Behavior and Education. In addition to her role as interim dean, she will continue as a professor in the College.聽聽Prior to joining Georgia Southern, she served as the director of the East Stroudsburg University (Pa.) M.P.H. program in Community Health Practice from 1987 to 2007.
Woodhouse鈥檚 areas of expertise include public health systems and services, workforce development, accreditation, and evaluation research methods.聽聽She is currently principal investigator of a multi-year statewide, multi-site asthma intervention program evaluation involving several members of Georgia Southern鈥檚 faculty and staff.
Her professional service is extensive.聽聽She was a board member of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).聽聽She also served on the governing council of the American Public Health Association (APHA) and is currently a member of the APHA Education Board.聽聽She is involved in supporting public health in the state of Georgia, including service as co-principal investigator for the new Georgia Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN), which recently received research funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.聽聽She has received multiple professional awards for her work in public health education research and workforce development from APHA, the national Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), and a distinguished alumna award from the University of Cincinnati鈥檚 College of Education.聽聽In addition, she is an elected fellow of both the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) and the Royal Institute of Public Health in London.
Woodhouse received her M.Ed. and Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati.聽聽She received her M.P.H. in Public Health Practice from the University of South Florida.
