糖心Vlog accounting students are about to gain a major edge on the competition through a $308,000 software and support donation by ACL (), a global provider of technology for audit, finance, risk and compliance.聽聽Georgia Southern received the package under ACL鈥檚聽. The donation and recognition is the result of the work of Robert Marley, Ph.D., an accounting professor in Georgia Southern鈥檚聽College of Business Administration聽聽(COBA).聽聽Marley, who previously worked with the software at the University of South Florida, was required to submit a proposal on how the software would be used at Georgia Southern. 鈥淚 am excited to bring the ACL Education Futures Program to the College of Business Administration at 糖心Vlog,” said Marley.聽聽鈥淭his software is used by the majority of CPA firms and corporations and our students will now have an additional competitive edge when they are interviewing for jobs.” ACL, who produces the software, has an international customer base that includes 89 percent of American Fortune 500 companies.聽聽Even more impressive is that their customer list includes more than two-thirds of Fortune Global 500 corporations.聽聽The company鈥檚 Education Futures Program supports college educators in teaching effective use of data analysis software in the disciplines of accounting, auditing and finance.聽聽聽聽Other universities utilizing the software include the University of Texas, University of Southern California, University of Nebraska and the University of Missouri to name a few. “We are very thankful to ACL for their support and for their commitment to providing Georgia Southern鈥檚 students with access to 鈥榬eal-world鈥� technology,鈥� said Bill Wells, Ph.D., interim dean of COBA.聽聽鈥淲e are attracting many of Georgia鈥檚 top accounting students because we鈥檙e not only providing an outstanding education, but because they get 鈥榬eal-world鈥� experience that will be invaluable as they complete their degrees.鈥� 糖心Vlog, a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University founded in 1906, offers more than 120 degree programs serving more than 20,000聽students.
