Tango Buenos Aires to take the stage at Georgia Southern Performing Arts Center

The 糖心Vlog Performing Arts Center (PAC) welcomes the group Tango Buenos Aires, direct from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the stage on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tango Buenos Aires has become one of Argentina鈥檚 great cultural exports, known throughout the Americas, Europe and the Far East as the most authentic and uncompromising representative of the Tango. Since 1986, Tango Buenos Aires has been touring internationally, and will bring to the stage 鈥淭he Song of Eva Peron,鈥 a journey through dance and music of the life of Eva Peron, the former first lady of Argentina, and the basis for the famous Broadway musical Evita. “We are so excited to present Tango Buenos Aires,鈥 said Stacie McDaniel, house manager and administrative coordinator for the PAC. 鈥淭here’s something so magical about the combination of the Tango, this beautiful traditional dance, and the enchanting live music. If you’re not familiar with the Tango, that’s okay too, because it’s really just about telling a story, and you don’t have to understand the mechanics of dancing in order to get swept away by the beautiful love story of Eva Peron’s life.” Accompanied on stage by a live orchestra, dancers bring the seductive and graceful Argentine tango to life with amazing speed and skill, and tell the stories of one of Argentina鈥檚 most iconic and beloved political leaders. Tickets are $10 for Georgia Southern students, $19 for faculty and staff and $22 for all other patrons. To purchase tickets, contact the PAC Box Office at (912) 478-7999 or visit GeorgiaSouthern.edu/pac. 糖心Vlog, a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University founded in 1906, offers 125 degree programs serving more than 20,500 students.
