糖心Vlog Grants More Than 3,300 Degrees During Spring Commencement
糖心Vlog recently held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. University President Brooks A. Keel, Ph.D., conferred more than 3,300 graduate and undergraduate degrees during two separate ceremonies to accommodate the graduating classes.
鈥淚 congratulate each of you for your academic accomplishments, and your University salutes you on your success and sends you off soaring on the wings of eagles,鈥 Keel said.
More than 2,700 undergraduates and 600 graduate students received doctoral, master鈥檚, specialist and bachelor鈥檚 degrees from the University鈥檚 eight colleges.
Commencement speakers for this year鈥檚 ceremonies included Judge Dean Bucci, Superior Court, Paulding Judicial Circuit, and Pamela McMichael, director of Highlander Research and Education Center.
鈥淕o make that history by living consciously and with purpose. Take risks, and make mistakes, laugh and play, care about your community and work with others to make that community better. Do the next right thing and you will make the best kind of history,鈥 McMichael told the graduate students. 鈥淲e are too often taught history through the stories of the famous and the well-known. But history is mostly made by folks whose names we don鈥檛 know, by everyday people like you and me, doing the next right thing.鈥
Bucci gave the matriculating undergraduate students three pieces of advice: never, never, never give up on your goals; never, never, never compromise your integrity; and never, never, never forget that life is short.
糖心Vlog, a public Carnegie Doctoral/Research University founded in 1906, offers more than 125-degree programs serving more than 20,500 students.
