Georgia Southern invites community to participate in Strategic Planning process through February events

  糖心Vlog is creating a new Strategic Plan for the University with the help of community members, students, faculty and staff. The University wants to receive community input that will help define the goals and priorities for the institution through seven facilitated Strategic Planning Town Hall events in Hinesville, Statesboro and Savannah. 鈥淏uilding on an impressive legacy of academic excellence, Georgia Southern鈥檚 new Strategic Plan will offer a collective vision for the future to ensure student success, unity, community engagement, and inclusive excellence, while strengthening our financial and human capital, and advancing teaching and research,鈥 said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Carl L. Reiber, Ph.D., who is overseeing the Strategic Planning process. 鈥淭he planning process,听 designed to be inclusive, encourages everyone to contribute their ideas as we think creatively about Georgia Southern鈥檚 future.鈥 Throughout the 2018-2019 academic year, the University Strategic Planning Committee has engaged students, faculty and staff 鈥 and now the community 鈥 in the strategic planning process. The Strategic Plan, a five-year vision for the institution鈥檚 future, will move the University forward with a clear set of goals, strategies and measurable outcomes for key areas. The plan also will update the University鈥檚 mission and vision statements. 鈥淲e welcome feedback from community members, business leaders and alumni across the region,鈥 said Helen W. Bland, Ph.D., co-chair of the University Strategic Planning Committee and professor of health policy and community health at Georgia Southern. 鈥淲e invite everyone to attend the Town Hall events in Hinesville, Statesboro and Savannah.鈥 The Strategic Planning Town Hall schedule is as follows: Wednesday, February 6 Liberty Campus 鈥 Hinesville 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. 175 West Memorial Drive, Room 106 Thursday, February 7 Statesboro Campus 鈥 Statesboro 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Military Sciences Building, Room 1100 Friday, February 8 Armstrong Campus 鈥 Savannah 1:30 p.m. Health Professions Academic Building, Room 160 Thursday, February 21 Armstrong Campus 鈥 Savannah 5:30 p.m. Student Union 鈥 Savannah Ballroom Parking for the community is available on each campus free of charge for the town hall events.
