20th annual Patti Pace Performance Festival to be held on Armstrong Campus

The 20th Patti Pace Performance Festival, a non-competitive performance festival that allows students and professionals from different schools to work together to create and workshop a performance, will be held on 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in Jenkins Hall Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淢oving Photographs: Performing Our Storied Histories.鈥 Participants will be led by Georgia Southern alumna, Melanie Kitchens O鈥橫eara, who is currently an assistant professor at Augusta University. O鈥橫eara has acted as the festival organizer since 2008.

鈥淥ur students will be fortunate to have a festival workshop and performance experience under O鈥橫eara鈥檚 guidance,鈥 said festival coordinator and associate professor in the Department of Communication Arts Rebecca Kennerly, Ph.D. 鈥淪he has provided a steady hand, strong continuity and inspiration as the festival traveled year-to-year to different host universities.鈥

Patti Pace Performance Festival was originally created by Patricia Pace, a former professor and theatre director at 糖心Vlog. The Department of Communication Arts aims to continue Pace鈥檚 legacy and bringing the festival to a new audience on the Armstrong Campus.
