Mission

The Dean of Students Office supports student learning and success by providing a safe and inclusive environment for Georgia Southern students and their support network, where they can connect with community resources. We value care, self-advocacy, integrity, and accountability.

Philosophy

As the primary student advocate, our philosophy of care approaches crisis intervention and student development with empathetic and personalized support. We utilize a holistic, student-centered approach to promote a community of care and empowerment throughout our university.

Student Learning Outcomes

1. Students can articulate services and/or resources offered by the Dean of Students Office.
2. Students will express how their interactions with the Dean of Students Office supported their student success.
3. Students who attend Bingo for Your Budget will demonstrate a 15% increase in knowledge and awareness of food insecurity on college campuses.  
4. At the end of their volunteer experience, student food pantry volunteers will demonstrate a 20%  increase in knowledge and awareness of food insecurity on college campuses.
