Community & Corporate Leadership Development Training

The Office of Leadership and Community Engagement has a team of nationally recognized educators and facilitators who work with leaders and teams from non-profit agencies to senior executives providing high-quality, engaging sessions to enhance leadership effectiveness. We offer specific leadership development sessions or can customize the training to fit the client’s needs. Due to the variety and diversity of our team, we are able to provide services connected to a variety of leadership assessment tools along with professional coaching. High school students who are driven and ready to step forward to engage in a college career filled with purpose are encouraged to check out our opportunities at Georgia Southern.

Students in Southern Leaders engage in interactive leadership courses, tackle community issues through service, and prepare themselves as leaders for their future careers. As a senior in high school you may apply to join the Southern Leaders Program through the

Those that apply by February 1st will be carefully reviewed for acceptance into the Southern Leaders Program as first-year students at Georgia Southern and those that demonstrate excellence in leadership and service activities will be considered for leadership scholarship opportunities.

Once you have made the decision to attend ÌÇÐÄVlog, we encourage you to take  advantage of BUILD (B³Ü¾±±ô»å¾±²Ô²µÌýUndergraduateÌý±õnvolvement in L±ð²¹»å±ð°ù²õ³ó¾±±èÌýDevelopment), our pre-semester leadership program, and take the first step in charting your course.  Students who participate in BUILD will experience a 5-day leader development and service program that connects students to our campus and the local Statesboro community.  Students will volunteer each day with various community agencies and participate in a leadership education program in the evening.  Participants will have the opportunity to meet other incoming students, and build friendships to provide the critical support network so essential to student success! Learn more.

Eagle Excellence Awards

The Eagle Excellence Awards are awards ceremonies hosted by the offices of Leadership & Community Engagement and Student Activities, departments within the Division of Student Affairs. For 24 years, these awards have celebrated the many contributions Georgia Southern students, student organizations and organization advisors have made to our university as well as the community at large. These awards are presented each year in the spring semester and nominations open in late January.
