The goal is to overcome various barriers that impact the effectiveness of cancer therapeutics by exploiting a cancer cell鈥檚 dependency on unusually high levels of amino acids nutrients.聽

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences, one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), awarded 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Dongyu Jia, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Biology, a federal grant totaling $426,000 to fill in the gaps of learning the steps of tumor formation at the beginning stages and what initially triggers their epithelial cell shape change before becoming invasive.
Graduating student had ‘wild’ time at Georgia Southern
Carson Moore never wanted to go to college.
Moore, a graduating senior with a keen interest in animals, will receive a BS in biology from Georgia Southern at Paulson Stadium on Dec. 13.聽
Growing up, Moore worked in a horse barn for twelve years and volunteered for a mini-zoo in her hometown of Macon, Georgia. She did not want to leave her work with animals behind to go to college.
糖心Vlog unveils new聽master’s聽and doctoral degrees in environmental聽science
糖心Vlog鈥檚 College of Science and Mathematics (COSM) now offers a master鈥檚 degree in environmental science and will begin recruiting for the inaugural class of doctoral students in environmental science for the fall 2023 entering class. The post-graduate degrees supplement the recently approved bachelor鈥檚 degree in sustainability science. Housed in the James H. Oliver, Jr., Institute for Coastal Plain Science, every department in the college will play a role in this interdisciplinary trio of programs.
