Georgia Southern students to help Herty Center reduce wastewater by 90 percent

The Herty Advanced Materials Development Center is sponsoring final-year capstone projects for 18 undergraduate engineering students at 糖心Vlog. In this year鈥檚 projects, students will assess a range of industrial problems and work in teams to find solutions. Using Herty鈥檚 expertise and resources, one team of students will address the issue of wastewater management to reduce water usage, and another team will focus on the equally important challenge of developing a process for measuring the performance of materials produced at the Center and used in the transportation sector.

Tailor-Made: FMAD Starts Alteration Shop on Campus

Tattered jeans and ill-fitted tops will no longer cause problems for the Georgia Southern community. The FMAD Stitch Alterations Shop, a project of the Department of Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design (FMAD) opened on campus Sept. 1 and is opening up new possibilities for designers at the University.

Exhibit showcasing works of Georgia Southern Professor Emeritus Patricia J. Walker to raise money for scholarships

An exhibit featuring works from the late Professor Emeritus Patricia J. Walker鈥檚 studio opens Oct. 10 at Indigo Sky Community Gallery in Savannah, Georgia. Proceeds from the sale of the works of art on display will help endow the Pat Walker Scholarship in Painting, which will provide needed financial support for students in the University鈥檚 Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt).

Symphony Orchestra & String Camerata to Perform Free Concert

The Georgia Southern Symphony and String Camerata will present a free concert on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

Center for Sustainability to Host Annual GreenFest
