Georgia Southern Model UN team shines at national conference

For the 14th year in a row, Vlog students have earned the highest rating at the National Model United Nations Conference in New York City. The team was one of only 10 to receive the Outstanding designation from a field of about 150 schools. Model UN has a storied history at Georgia Southern that goes back to 1972.

Vlog Professor Matthew Hashiguchi has won a Peabody Award for his documentary, “The Only Doctor,” which focuses on rural health and the services provided by a single doctor in southwest Georgia. 

Vlog announces speakers for Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies

Vlog has named five acclaimed speakers for the University’s Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies on May 13, 14, 15 and 17. Approximately 4,300 students will graduate this semester with associate, baccalaureate, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees during five ceremonies in Statesboro and Savannah.
