Department of Sociology and Anthropology hosts Anthropology Week

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences is hosting a series of events for Anthropology Week Feb. 12-15 in the Carroll Building on the Statesboro Campus. Inspired by the American Anthropological Association’s Anthropology Day, Georgia Southern’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology expanded its programming to include an anthropological twist on Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14 and a day-long celebration of anthropology on Thursday, Feb. 15.

As part of the Georgia Southern Department of Music and Campus Life Enrichment Committee鈥檚 semester-long Vocal Arts Festival, international performers and former Georgia Music Artist of the Year nominees, the Chuck Nation Band, will play a concert Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Statesboro, Georgia.

University, local community reading of ‘The Vagina Monologues’ to raise funds for local sexual assault center

The 糖心Vlog chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) will host a reading of 鈥淭he Vagina Monologues,鈥 on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Russell Union Ballroom on the Statesboro Campus, to raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit organization, V-Day and the local nonprofit, the Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault Center (SRSAC).
