Crisis Intervention & H.E.R.O.

Don’t suffer alone. Trained clinicians are available 24 hours a day to handle emergencies such as suicide attempts, rape or attempted rape, and other crises. Call 911 in case of immediate danger.

USG Services

In addition to our on-campus services, the University System of Georgia provides access to anonymous online communities, mental health training and other resources.

Connect immediately with a licensed mental counselor through UWill. Students can attend five free counseling sessions through this online service, which works with colleges across the country.

On-Campus Training & Clinical Assignments

Georgia Southern’s Counseling Center is a place for growth, including for our clients and future practitioners alike. Graduate students, as well as undergraduate interns, can gain invaluable hands-on experience assisting with service delivery in varying degrees.

Internships in Health Service Psychology

Our APA-accredited Internship in Health Service Psychology accepts four students a year. Interns can participate in clinical rotations, join weekly seminars and see firsthand the life of a clinician.

Practicum Training

The Counseling Center’s Practicum Training Program allows master’s- and doctoral-level candidates in mental health counseling or psychology to put their skills to work in a professional setting and fulfill practice requirements.

The Counseling Center does not schedule appointments online or by email, as confidentiality cannot be ensured over the internet.

If you are concerned for the immediate safety of yourself and/or others, call 911. The Counseling Center also maintains 24/7 crisis access. Students can call during business hours and request to be transferred to the crisis counselor, or when the center is closed, can call 912-478-5541 and select option 2 from the voicemail menu. After-hours crisis services can also be used by campus partners needing a consultation about a student of concern.
