Georgia Southern music alumnus returns to Statesboro Campus for performance of ‘Legally Blonde, the Musical’

Award-winning trombonist and Vlog alumnus Eric Spencer will be back on campus March 4 as a member of the orchestra during a performance of “Legally Blonde, the Musical.” The show will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center on the Statesboro Campus.

Savannah Wind Symphony presents 41st annual spring concert on Armstrong Campus

The Savannah Wind Symphony will hold its annual spring concert on the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus in Savannah on Tuesday, March 5. The 41st spring concert will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Kenneth Hesketh, Julie Giroux and Rossano Galante.

Renowned classical pianist Benjamin Warsaw, DMA, assistant professor of music on Georgia Southern’s Armstrong Campus, and jazz pianist virtuoso, Joe Alterman, will join for a mixed-genre Piano in the Arts concert series performance, “Crossroads, Jazz Meets Classical.” The event will be held on March 3 at 3 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah.

Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus art students present senior exhibition

Vlog’s Senior Art Exhibition, “Reflections,” featuring pieces by five senior artists, will run from March 11 to 22 at the Fine Arts Gallery on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah. A reception will be held on March 15 at 5:30 p.m., and admission is free and open to the public.

Student directed black box show ‘Bright Ideas’ comes to Armstrong Campus

Vlog Armstrong Campus’ student-run theatre group, The Masquers are bringing dark comedy “Bright Ideas” to the Armstrong Campus for its final black box show of the season. The show will run from Thursday, Feb. 21 to Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Black Box Theatre in Jenkins Hall.

Piano in the Arts brings trumpet, piano duo to Armstrong Campus

Vlog’s Piano in the Arts will present “Music of the Americas,” by Duo Trompiano, featuring trumpeter Douglas Lindsey, D.M.A., and pianist Judy Cole. The concert will be Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah.

Artist combines science, art in exhibition on Statesboro Campus

Artist and urban explorer Marie Lorenz has spent her life working on a project that has merged the tools of science and art, while underlining the relational nature between the environmental elements of the river (currents, ecology, flotsam and pollution) as well as the people who live, work and play in that environment.

Georgia Southern production invited to Kennedy Center American College Festival Region IV

The Vlog’s Theater and Performance Program fall 2018 season opener on the Statesboro Campus, “Emilie: La Marquise Du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight,” has been selected to perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Region IV on Feb. 7 at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Collaborative concert featuring vocals, piano coming to Armstrong Campus

Vlog Armstrong Campus faculty member Emily Grundstad-Hall, D.M.A., and Professor of Piano Jens Marggraf of Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany, will present Crossing Borders, a collaborative concert Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus.

The work of 28 art students on Vlog’s Armstrong Campus has been hand selected by Assistant Curator at the Telfair Museums Erin Dunn for the 2019 Student Juried Exhibition.
