糖心Vlog celebrates 20th annual National French Week

糖心Vlog will celebrate the history, culture and contributions of the French community during its 20th annual French Week, featuring a series of lectures, performances, meals and more. The celebration will run from Nov. 2 through Nov. 8.

Senior art exhibition to showcase variety of styles on Armstrong Campus

Art can be expressed in many different forms, and that versatility will be on full display Nov. 12 through 30 during GAMUT, a senior exhibition on the 糖心Vlog Armstrong Campus in Savannah.

Tim Kintzinger, D.M.A., a music professor on the 糖心Vlog Armstrong Campus, will go back to his roots when he performs 鈥淪tandards鈥 on the trumpet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall on the Statesboro Campus and on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus.

Upcoming exhibition on Statesboro Campus to feature work of artist Ken Wood

Using bold, sweeping gestures and working with a limited palette, artist Ken Wood explores the unfolding relationships of space, shape and color through printmaking. His upcoming exhibition 鈥淎rgonauts,鈥 on view from Nov. 5 through 30 in the Contemporary Gallery at the Center for Art and Theatre on the 糖心Vlog Statesboro Campus, features prints from his Argonauts Quatro series.

Georgia Southern philosophy professor invited to India to discuss research on emotion

While the word emotion dates back to 16th century France, the examination and study of its cognitive and biological complexity within humans dates back to ancient Greece and China. Georgia Southern Philosophy Associate Professor Maria Magoula Adamos, Ph.D., continued those studies on a recent trip to India, where she shared her research on the philosophy of emotion.

Senior gallery exhibition 鈥淏eyond the Surface鈥 coming to Armstrong Campus

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will be asking viewers to take a deeper look into its upcoming senior exhibition, 鈥淏eyond the Surface,鈥 which runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 12 at the Fine Arts Gallery located in Fine Arts Hall on the Armstrong Campus.

Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus hosts senior visual art exhibition 鈥淒ichotomy鈥 beginning Oct. 22

鈥淒ichotomy,鈥 an upcoming senior art show on the 糖心Vlog Armstrong Campus in Savannah, will feature the work of three graduating seniors, Darian Merritt, William Wright and Eric Sanders, at the Fine Arts Gallery Oct. 22 through Nov. 2. A closing reception will be held Nov. 2 from 5:30-7 p.m. The gallery and reception are both free and open to the public.

William Samuel McTell may have lost his sight during childhood, but that didn鈥檛 stop him from becoming one of the most influential blues musicians of his time 鈥 and a local hero. While his impact on Statesboro is evident all over town, his likeness has finally been immortalized with a bronze statue created by 糖心Vlog art professor Marc Moulton, M.F.A.
